Burnham, a junior who ran 11.77 over 100 meters as a freshman, will compete in the 500-yard run at the Sunkist and hopes to improve on last year’s third-place finish.

Also competing in the 500-yard run will be Simone Cain of Hueneme High. Cain has run 55.23 in a 400-meter race.
