Share

John Barnes scored the first seven points Friday night and Trabuco Hills High School never looked back in defeating Orange, 67-52, in a Pacific Coast League boys’ basketball game at Trabuco Hills.

Barnes, a 6-foot 3-inch senior forward, led the Mustangs (10-6, 1-1) to a 21-12 first-quarter lead.

“We came out with pressure, mixing a full-court and half-court press that caused turnovers,” said Rainer Wulf, Trabuco Hills coach. “We got them to run a little bit. They are a very patient team. We got the game going to our pace. When that happened, we were pretty much home free.”
