Broncos Favored by Three Points
The Denver Broncos were made three-point favorites over the Washington Redskins in Super Bowl XXII, shortly after both teams won their championship games Sunday.
The Super Bowl will be held Jan. 31 in San Diego’s Jack Murphy Stadium.
Denver beat Cleveland, 38-33, in the AFC championship game and earned its second straight trip to the Super Bowl. Washington reached the Super Bowl for the third time in six years by defeating Minnesota, 17-10, for the NFC championship.
Last year, the Broncos were nine-point underdogs in the Super Bowl and lost to the New York Giants, 39-20. Denver had lost in its only previous Super Bowl to Dallas.
