Girls' Basketball : Kennedy Extends Strea at Chatsworth's Expense

Kennedy High notched its 97th consecutive league victory with a 49-33 win over Chatsworth on Friday in a Valley League game at Chatsworth.

April Ham and Tisa Rush each scored 16 points for Kennedy, which improved to 11-6 overall, 7-0 in league play.

Chatsworth, led by Ericka Miller's 17 points, trailed by five points going into the fourth quarter but scored only two in the final eight minutes. The Chancellors fell to 3-4 in league play.

Reseda 76, Canoga Park 40--Reseda remained the only undefeated team in the West Valley League with an easy win at Reseda.

Cheryl Hightower led Reseda (14-1, 7-0) with 18 points and 4 steals. Angie Smith added 14 points and 9 rebounds. Stephanie DeLange led Canoga Park (5-4, 4-3) with 12 points. Roz Linton added 9 points and 18 rebounds.

North Hollywood 62, Taft 39--Michelle Cabaldan scored 15 points and Sandrine Rocher had 13 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Huskies in a West Valley League game at Taft.

Leticia Carranza scored 8 of her 9 points in the first half and had 7 assists for North Hollywood (11-4, 5-2).

San Fernando 43, Poly 33--Junior forward Marisela Beltran scored 18 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to lead the Tigers to a Pac 6 League win at San Fernando.

The Tigers dominated the boards behind Kristie Flukers' 12 rebounds and Tonetta Cooper's 9. Cooper also scored 14 points.

Birmingham 65, Grant 48--Amy Ruberiot scored 20 points to lead the Braves to a West Valley League victory at Birmingham.

Tracie Harris added 19 points for the Braves (3-4 in league play).

El Camino Real 66, Cleveland 54--Kerrie Marshall scored 22 points and Lisa Huffaker added 18 to lead the Conquistadores to a Valley League win at Cleveland. El Camino Real is 6-1 in league play.

Cleveland fell to 6-8, 2-5, despite 10 points and 12 rebounds from Nancy Nicholls and 12 points and 16 rebounds from Dawn Stewart.
