Temple Voted No. 1 in Basketball Poll
Temple became the fifth team this season to hold the top spot in the Associated Press college basketball poll Monday, when the Owls were voted their first No. 1 ranking.
Temple (18-1) jumped from fifth to first with 1,204 points after 13 of the top 20 teams lost last week.
“The polls do not concern me,” Temple Coach John Chaney said. “Because to me, what’s important, is not to be first in February. Being first last is what counts.”
