Guerrero at Third? On Second Thought, Play Him at First

As a die-hard 30-year Dodger fan, I must take exception to Mike Downey’s criticism of the ’88 Dodger infield. He is missing the point. Give thanks that a St. Louis or Kansas City isn’t putting us to sleep with their golden glove snooze ball in Chavez Ravine.

Lasorda’s chess game will dictate a power infield early and a “relief infield” late in the game. The talent is there; it’s simply a matter of orchestration.
