Prep Basketball : Crenshaw Top-Seeded Team in City 4-A Playoffs

Crenshaw (22-0) and Manual Arts (20-2) are the No. 1 and 2 seeded teams, respectively, in the City Boys basketball 4-A playoffs, which begin first-round play Friday.

Defending champion Fairfax and Cleveland are seeded third and fourth. Both teams are 10-1 in Valley League play, and providing both win their final games Wednesday, a coin flip will decide the final seedings.

University (17-4) is top-seeded and San Fernando (14-6) second-seeded in the 3-A division. Grant (17-3) and North Hollywood (16-4) tied for the East Valley League title and will flip a coin Tuesday with the winner to be third-seeded. Northern League champion Wilson (17-5) is the fourth-seeded team.

Two third-place playoff games are scheduled Tuesday in the 3-A. Marshall and Eagle Rock play for third in the Northern League, and Roosevelt and Narbonne meet for the final playoff berth in the Eastern League. The loser of Tuesday’s games will play Wednesday for the at-large berth.

Westchester (17-2) is top-seeded, and defending champion Kennedy (13-5) is second-seeded in the Girls 4-A division. Defending champion Reseda (17-1) is the No. 1 seeded team in the 3-A.
