Newbern Is Honored in Sea View

Shawna Newbern of Estancia High School, who led the Eagles to their first girls’ basketball league title since 1983, was named the player of the year in the Sea View League in a vote of the league’s coaches.

Newbern, a senior guard, averaged 18 points and 9 rebounds for Estancia.
