PCAA Roundup : Utah St. Beats Fresno St., 82-69

Greg Houskeeper scored 16 points and Dan Conway added 15 to lead Utah State past Fresno State, 82-69, Thursday night at Logan, Utah, and into second place in the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn.

Utah State (17-9 overall, 12-5 in the PCAA) snapped a three-game losing streak and pulled even with UC Santa Barbara.

Fresno State (9-17, 6-11) fell behind, 50-35, with 13:48 left, but a 13-6 run got the Bulldogs within 58-52 with 8:25 remaining. Kevin Nixon scored six points as the Aggies rebuilt the lead to 68-57, and Fresno couldn’t recover.

Jarvis Cole scored 17 points for the Bulldogs.

San Jose State 80, UOP 59--Ricky Berry scored 29 points and grabbed 10 rebounds at San Jose to lead the Spartans over Pacific, which lost its 20th straight game.

Despite 26 points from Domingo Rosario, Pacific moved within one defeat of becoming the first winless PCAA team since San Jose State in 1971.

San Jose State improved its record to 7-10 in the PCAA and 12-14 overall, while Pacific fell to 0-17 and 5-22.
