Michael Jackson and recent Grammy winner Jody Watley lead the nominations for the second annual Soul Train Music Awards, announced Monday. Jackson, who lost out last week in all four Grammy categories in which he was nominated, was nominated for best single (“Bad”) and album (“Bad”) and for best music video for his hit single, “The Way You Make Me Feel.” Watley, the former singer with the group Shalamar who won a Grammy for best new artist, received nominations for best single and album in the female division and will compete against Jackson in the music video category for her video, “Looking for a New Love.” Other recording artists receiving multiple nominations: Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Natalie Cole, Prince, Janet Jackson and Earth, Wind & Fire. The winners will be named during a two-hour telecast March 30 from the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium.
