Community College Baseball : Cerritos’ Homers Beat Orange Coast

Orange Coast College outhit host Cerritos, 11-10, but was defeated by home runs as Cerritos won, 13-8, in a nonconference baseball game Saturday.
Javier Fimbres had a two-run homer in the fifth, and Scott Ewart a grand slam in the seventh to power Cerritos.
Jason Young was 2 for 4 with a triple and three runs scored for OCC (15-9-1).
Fullerton 4, Cypress 3--Fullerton home runs by Mike Oziminski in the fourth and Rod Klopfer in the fifth tied the game before Emmit Cohick singled, Greg Giftlink singled and Shawn Blankenship tripled to knock in the winning run. Brad Hopper (4-0) struck out five in nine innings. Fullerton is 14-2-1, Cypress 13-2.
Golden West 8, Rancho Santiago 4--Rancho Santiago was ahead, 4-1, in the fifth inning, but Golden West (9-6) scored six runs in the sixth to win at Rancho Santiago. Craig Paquette went 4 for 4 with two RBIs and Rick VanderReit was 3 for 4 with two RBIs. Bill Baird (2-1) got the win in five innings of relief and had seven strikeouts.
