Furth Honor--Herb Furth, who has retired after many years as director of the Palisades Junior Basketball League, will be honored at a dinner at 6:30 p.m. April 13 at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades. For reservations call (213) 454-1282.

John Wooden, retired UCLA basketball coach, is expected to be a guest at the dinner for Furth, whose league has produced such stars as Kiki Vandeweghe of the National Basketball Assn. and Steve Kerr of the University of Arizona.

Dinner chairmen are Chris Marlowe and Don Shaw, who played for Coach Jerry Marvin on the 1969 Palisades High School team that won a Los Angeles City championship. Marlowe, a television volleyball commentator, was captain of the U.S. volleyball team that won a gold medal at the 1984 Olympics. Shaw coaches women’s volleyball at Stanford.
