The State : Plane Crash Victims Listed
Six people killed in two light plane crashes in Northern California over the weekend were identified. The five who died near Orinda when their plane slammed into a hillside and burst into flames were the pilot, Earl Tanner, 66, of Saratoga; his two grandsons, Frank Tanner, 14, of Saratoga and Christopher Stewart, 14, of Castle; Earl Tanner’s housekeeper, Bobbi Jean Richardson, 51, and a family friend, Tom Swarner, 39, of San Jose, the Contra Costa county coroner’s office reported. Pilot Robert Andrew Beck, 61, of Ukiah died when his plane crashed after takeoff from Calpella, the Mendocino County coroner’s office said. Both crashes were being investigated by federal officials.
