SOFTBALL

North Hollywood 8, Marshall 5--Jennifer Rothstein threw a no-hitter to keep North Hollywood undefeated in an East Valley League game at home.

Rothstein (7-0) struck out 15 batters but allowed 13 walks. She also had a double and two singles.

Saugus 10, Palmdale 0--Cathy Lewis pitched a perfect game in Golden League play at Palmdale. Chris Arambula was 5 for 5 for Saugus. Lewis (3-1) added two singles.

Sylmar 15, Granada Hills 1-- Sylmar took advantage of 18 walks by two Granada Hills pitchers in the Valley North League win at home. Chris Parks had three hits and drove in six runs for Sylmar.

Simi Valley 16, Westlake 0--Chrissy Oliver pitched a two-hitter and struck out 13 without allowing a walk in the Marmonte League game at Westlake.

Newbury Park 7, Channel Islands 0-- Marilyn Carroll pitched a two-hit shutout, striking out 13, in the Marmonte League win at Channel Islands.

Montclair Prep 16, Village Christian 15--Montclair Prep’s Lorie Oleesky broke a 15-15 tie when she scored on a wild pitch in the seventh inning of the Alpha League game at Montclair Prep.

Moorpark 3, Fillmore 2-- Nana Barrera pitched out of a bases-loaded, no-outs jam in the seventh to preserve the Tri-Valley League win at home.

Simi Lutheran 4, Pilgrim 1-- Winning pitcher Donna Schultze struck out seven and went 2 for 3 in the Heritage League win at home.

Louisville 11, Agoura 10--Shellee Gautreau walked with the bases loaded in the eighth to snap a tie in the nonleague game at Agoura.

Chatsworth 5, Kennedy 1--Christina Roopenian scattered six hits in a North Valley League game at Chatsworth.

GOLF

Thousand Oaks d. Newbury Park, 388-394--Mike Donnelly was low medalist with a 72 and Kelly Schlender shot a 78 with a hole-in-one to lead Thousand Oaks (15-2) in the nonleague match at Los Robles Country Club.

Birmingham d. Granada Hills, 426-432--Scott Sobel shot a 75 to lead Birmingham at Braemar Country Club.
