THE PREPS : Roundup : Dana Hills Routs El Toro in Tennis Showdown, 15-3

Chris Stevens swept his three singles sets as Dana Hills High School moved into sole possession of first place with a 15-3 victory over El Toro Friday in a South Coast League tennis match at Dana Hills.

Stevens, the Dolphins’ No. 1 singles player, won his sets, 6-0, 6-0, 6-1. No. 2 singles player Estaban Saba also swept his sets, 6-4, 6-1, 6-1.

Dana Hills is 12-3 overall and 5-0 in league. El Toro is 4-1 in league.

In another South Coast League match:

Capistrano Valley 15, San Clemente 3--Capistrano Valley’s No. 1 doubles team of David Barnes and Jeff Roodman swept their matches, 6-2, 6-3, 6-1, and Capistrano Valley (7-6, 3-2) went on to sweep all the doubles in its victory over visiting San Clemente.

In Orange League tennis:

Valencia 13, Brea-Olinda 5--The No. 1 doubles team of Eric Flint and Colin Robinson swept their matches, 6-1, 6-0, 6-0, to lead Valencia (9-0, 12-1).

Anaheim 14, Magnolia 4--Andy Sprague and Khanh Nguyen, Anaheim’s No. 1 doubles team, swept three sets, 6-1, 6-0, 6-0, for Anaheim (11-1, 8-1) at Pearson Park. Anaheim, a game behind first-place Valencia, plays at Valencia Wednesday.

In nonleague tennis:

Woodbridge 10, Estancia 8--Randy Ivey swept his matches, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, to lead Woodbridge (10-3) at Estancia.

In Sunset League golf:

Edison 284, Westminster 310 (12 holes)--Scott Spencer shot a two-over-par 51 to lead Edison (5-6, 3-0) at SeaCliff Country Club.

In Garden Grove League volleyball:

La Quinta 3, Los Alamitos 0--Craig Frisby had nine kills to lead La Quinta (8-4, 7-0) over Los Alamitos, 15-5, 15-4, 15-6. Tom Potwora had five blocks and Brian Giuliano had four service aces for La Quinta.

In the Pacific Coast League:

Laguna Hills 3, Costa Mesa 1--Brian Fleming had 17 kills to lead Laguna Hills to victory, 15-5, 15-13, 11-15, 15-6. Trent DeVreud had 14 kills for Laguna Hills (3-8, 3-4).

In Sea View League volleyball:

Newport Harbor 3, Foothill 0--Will Allison had nine kills and Jim Newberry seven to lead host Newport Harbor (6-2, 4-0) to a 15-11, 15-13, 15-10 victory.

In the South Coast League:

Mission Viejo 3, Capistrano Valley 0--Chad Jones had 12 kills and 6 blocks to lead host Mission Viejo (4-4, 2-2) to a 15-3, 15-1, 15-13 victory.

In Sunset League volleyball:

Marina 3, Huntington Beach 0--Duane Cameron and Ron Browning had 10 kills each and Dave Park added 8 for visiting Marina (7-3, 3-1).
