Ivan Lendl, weary from jet lag and lack of sleep, beat Amos Mansdorf of Israel, 6-4, 6-7, 6-3, Tuesday night in the opening match of the $500,000 AT&T; Challenge at Atlanta.

“I was pretty tired,” Lendl said. “I had only about six hours sleep the last two nights. The jet lag sort of got to me. I wasn’t there for the whole match.”
