Anchorman Joe Falcon ran away from the field in leading Arkansas to victory in the distance medley relay at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.
Arkansas won in 9:29.4, with Indiana second in 9:33.4, and Kentucky third in 9:36.2
The Razorbacks had won the distance medley four straight years until Georgetown dethroned them last year.
The Razorbacks’ winning time, on a cold, blustery day on an artificial surface made slick by periodic showers, wasn’t close to the world best of 9:20.96 set here last year by Georgetown.
Texas Christian, seeking its 25th consecutive 400-meter relay victory and third straight at the Penn Relays, easily won its trial heat for today’s championship in 39.36, the best time of the trial.
