The State : Small Quake Hits San Diego
A small quake measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale shook some sections of San Diego, a spokesman at Cal Tech in Pasadena, where the quake was monitored, said. The quake occurred at 8:53 a.m. Saturday and was centered 12 miles southeast of downtown San Diego in the Spring Valley area, Cal Tech spokesman Robert Finn said. police reported no injuries or damage. A short time earlier, a 3.2 quake was measured in the Whittier area of Los Angeles, where a major quake last fall killed eight people and caused millions of dollars of damage. No injuries or damage were reported.
