Local News in Brief : Girl Dies in Hit-Run Crash

Share

A little girl was killed and a woman critically injured Thursday by a hit-and-run driver who struck them as they hurried across a busy Los Angeles street to catch a bus, police said.

Shortly after the accident on Beverly Boulevard at Reno Street, officers found several people trying to dismantle the car involved, apparently to hide evidence of the collision, police said. No one had been arrested, but detectives were questioning several people. Officers declined to reveal where the car was found.

Neither of the victims was identified pending notification of relatives.

The 40-year-old woman and her daughter, who was between the ages of 3 and 6 years, were running across Beverly Boulevard toward a bus when they were hit by the car, which then sped off.
