Mike Edles, who had three NCAA Division II championship men’s tennis teams in the past four years at Chapman College, has resigned to coach at Cal State Hayward.

Edles, 31, led Chapman to its first Division II tennis title in 1985. The Panthers were runners-up in 1986, then won again in 1987 and 1988.

In six years, Edles’ teams compiled a 137-73 record. Before he came to Chapman, he had a 37-30 record in three years at Cal State Bakersfield.
