A motorist who stopped to aid a man carrying a gasoline can Friday night on California 94 near Euclid Avenue was in serious condition in Paradise Valley Hospital after the man he stopped to help shot him and drove off in his car.
A San Diego police spokesman said the assailant left the victim’s car on the freeway about 2 miles away, near Kelton Road.
Police are investigating.
