Chris Mills, the Fairfax High School basketball star whose recruitment by the University of Kentucky is the subject of a National Collegiate Athletic Assn. investigation, has enrolled at Kentucky and could arrive at the school as soon as Sunday, according to officials at the school.

“He’s going to be here at Kentucky,” assistant basketball coach Dwane Casey said. “We look for him. He’s already pre-registered and pre-enrolled.”

However, Mills’ father, Claud Mills, refused to say whether his son had made arrangements to go to Kentucky.

Whether Mills would go to Kentucky--possibly risking his eligibility to play college basketball if the NCAA finds him guilty of an infraction--is the subject of much controversy. The Los Angeles Daily News published a story on April 14 quoting several Emery Air Freight Corp. employees as saying a package sent from Casey to Claud Mills came open in transit, revealing $1,000.
