Chuck Nelson kicked a 23-yard field goal with 48 seconds left in overtime Sunday night to lift the Minnesota Vikings to a 19-16 exhibition victory over the Phoenix Cardinals.

The Cardinals had scored twice in the final 1:57 of regulation to overcome a 16-6 deficit. They pulled within 16-13 on a 1-yard pass from Cliff Stoudt to rookie Tony Jeffery, and they tied the score with 7 seconds left on a 47-yard field goal by Al Del Greco.

Minnesota won for the second week in a row on the road, at sites nearly 7,000 miles apart. The Vikings defeated Chicago, 28-21, last Sunday in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The Cardinals have yet to win since they moved to Arizona from St. Louis during the off-season.

Minnesota broke a scoreless tie with 12:08 remaining in the second quarter when Wade Wilson hooked up with Anthony Carter on a 20-yard touchdown pass. Nelson’s extra-point attempt bounced off the left upright and fell back.
