Cal State Fullerton Opens Its Season Tonight at Southwestern Louisiana

Cal State Fullerton opens its football season tonight against Southwestern Louisiana at 5 p.m., PDT, at Cajun Field.

Fullerton, which finished 6-6 last season, has not won a season-opening game since 1984. Southwestern Louisiana, which had a 6-5 record last year, has not won its opener since 1982.

Fullerton quarterback Dan Speltz, a transfer who led El Camino College to an undefeated season last year, will be making his first start in a Division I game.
