California Department of Forestry officials are investigating the cause of a fire that burned 20 acres of brush near Interstate 15 and Gopher Canyon Road on Sunday afternoon, CDF spokeswoman Cele Cundari said.
Sixty firefighters and 10 engines fought the blaze for 1 1/2 hours before it was contained, she said.
Three other spot fires, triggered by transformers and power lines felled by the wind, burned about three acres, Cundari said. They were near Twin Oaks Valley Road and Solar Lane in San Marcos, Lilac Road east of Interstate-15, and Honey Springs Road and Bratton Valley Road in East County.
