Hoover 21, South Pasadena 12--Quarterback Steve Solano and running back Stanley Phan scored fourth-quarter touchdowns as Hoover overcame a 12-7 third-quarter deficit at South Pasadena. Solano scored on a one-yard run with 11:12 left to give Hoover a 14-12 lead after Bradley Faunce’s conversion kick.

Phan’s one-yard touchdown run with 4:28 left was his second. He scored from the six-yard line 30 seconds before halftime and finished with 59 yards in 12 carries. South Pasadena scored touchdowns in the second and third quarters but failed on both conversion attempts.
