THE OUTDOORS : Big Stripers a Bonus at Silverwood
Although catfish are the seasonable choice for most Southland anglers, fishermen at San Bernardino County’s Lake Silverwood have been catching striped bass.
Lake regular Del East of San Bernardino caught four stripers weighing 72 1/2 pounds, the largest a 22 3/4-pounder. Mark Gwatney of Summit Valley caught 12- and 18-pound stripers while fishing the channel.
