Damage Exceeds $200,000 in Anaheim Condominium Fire
A fire of unknown origin caused more than $200,000 damage Thursday at a condominium complex in Anaheim, authorities said.
The fire began about 4:30 p.m. at the Brookhurst Village condominiums in the 1200 block of Brookhurst Street, Battalion Chief Jan Hagan of the Anaheim Fire Department said. One unit on the second floor of the complex was destroyed, and a unit next to it was partially damaged, Hagan said.
Two units downstairs sustained water damage, he said.
One firefighter was slightly injured when a ceiling collapsed in one of the condominiums, but he was not hospitalized, Hagan said.
Twenty-two firefighters responded to the blaze, which took about 20 minutes to control. The cause of the fire is under investigation, Hagan said.
