UC Irvine Blanks Loyola in Soccer

Jeff Pena scored 2 goals to lead UC Irvine to an 8-0 victory over Loyola Marymount Thursday in a nonconference men’s soccer match at Loyola.

Pena scored both goals in the second half.

Irvine (6-8) led at halftime, 3-0. Dean Lamb scored 6 minutes into the match for a 1-0 lead. Shawn Bullock scored at the 9-minute mark for a 2-0 lead. Jimmy Malaver scored at the 15-minute mark.

Goalie Dammon Ellis made 3 saves in recording the shutout.
