PREP FOOTBALL : Orange League : Punt-Return TD Rallies Magnolia Past Savanna
Magnolia High school allowed a 21-7 halftime lead to dissipate, then rallied in the fourth quarter for a 29-22 victory over Savanna Friday night at Glover Stadium.
With Savanna leading, 22-21, in the fourth quarter, Magnolia’s Bob Musgrave returned a punt 77 yards for a touchdown, his second score of the game. Quarterback Elliott Parker then threw to running back Pat McNeil for a 2-point conversion for the final margin.
Magnolia opened up a big lead at halftime with 21 points in the second quarter. McNeil scored 2 touchdowns on runs of 1 and 4 yards.
Savanna’s Martin Strozier returned a fumble 88 yards for a touchdown, but Magnolia came back to score on a 47-yard pass from Parker to Musgrave.
