Cal State Long Beach Plays at Akron Today
Cal State Long Beach and the University of Akron will meet in football for the first time today in a nonconference game at the Rubber Bowl in Akron, Ohio.
Long Beach is 1-5 overall after defeating Cal State Fullerton, 24-22, last week. Quarterback Jeff Graham needs 279 yards to replace Doug Gaynor as the 49ers’ all-time leader in passing yardage.
The Zips, coached by Gerry Faust, are 2-5. They are coming off a 42-0 loss to Auburn.
