Sheriff’s deputies were searching Friday night for a missing 42-year-old woman who suffers from Down’s syndrome, authorities said.
The woman, identified as Karen Smith of El Toro, has a mental capacity of a 3-year-old and was separated from a group during an outing Friday afternoon at Laguna Hills Mall, said Lt. Larry Richey of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
“Apparently there was a person who took a group of people with these types of problems over to the mall. She was with four other people and somehow they got separated,” Richey said.
The woman is 5 feet tall, weighs 150 pounds and has black hair and hazel eyes. She was wearing white pants and a pink top.
