Promoters of next week’s World Boxing Assn. junior lightweight championship bout in London won a court injunction preventing a borough council from banning the fight because the titleholder, Brian Mitchell, is a South African.

Mitchell’s sixth defense of the title, against Britain’s Jim McDonnell, had been in doubt since a vote by Southwark Council to stop the fight from being held at a small arena it owns just south of the River Thames.
