A car went out of control on the Santa Ana Freeway and crashed into a light pole early Tuesday, killing its teen-age driver and injuring two passengers, authorities said.

Ramar Magar Singh, 17, of Westminster was driving north on the freeway at 70 to 80 m.p.h. just after midnight when he lost control of his Toyota Celica GT, California Highway Patrol Officer Mike Lundquist said.

The Toyota spun from the fast lane to the freeway shoulder, where it hit the light pole, killing Singh, CHP Officer Keith Thornhill said.
