Northridge Finds Its Shooting Range
It sounds so basic, but it was an element missing from the Cal State Northridge basketball team’s attack last season.
It is called the outside shot.
And if early results are any indication, there will not be a similar problem this season.
Northridge opened its men’s basketball season in impressive fashion Friday night, defeating the University of British Columbia, 89-64, in an exhibition game at the CSUN gym.
The Matadors shot 50.9% and made 6 of 7 from three-point range. Only one of the 11 Matadors who played failed to score.
Darren Matsubara led Northridge with 17 points. Derrick Gathers and Todd Bowser each added 13 and Leroy McCullough contributed 11. Al Lalonde had 15 points to lead British Columbia.
