Taft, Palisades Advance to City 4-A Tennis Final

Taft High, led by Julie Koppekin and Leigh Kirsch, defeated Kennedy, 7-0, in a semifinal match of the City Section 4-A Division girls’ tennis playoffs Friday at Studio City Racquet Club.

Taft will play defending 4-A champion Palisades, a 4-3 winner over Granada Hills in the other semifinal match, for the division title Nov. 29 at the Racquet Club.

Noel Calderwood, Debbie Ferris and Kellie Christianson all won in singles matches for Granada Hills, but the Highlanders lost all 3 of their doubles matches.
