A30-year-old bicyclist died after being struck by two cars in Santa Clarita, police said.

Miguel Rodriguez of Santa Clarita was crossing Sierra Highway, just south of Scherzinger Lane, when he was struck Thursday by a vehicle traveling south, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Ed Dvorak of the Santa Clarita substation. Another motorist immediately behind the first car did not see Rodriguez and ran over him, Dvorak said.

The drivers failed to see the bicyclist because it was dark and he was wearing dark clothes, Dvorak said. The drivers were not cited.

Rodriguez died at the scene shortly after the 5:45 p.m. accident, Dvorak said.
