Community College Roundup : Rancho Santiago Is Eliminated in Tournament

Bruce Watson scored 19 points, 14 in the second half, and Moorpark College rallied to eliminate Rancho Santiago, 77-66, in the consolation round of the Pasadena men’s basketball tournament.
Charlie Cangelosi scored 10 points, all in the second half, for Moorpark, which overcame a 38-27 Rancho Santiago lead. Gene Altamirano scored 22 for Rancho Santiago (8-5).
In the Riverside tournament:
Chaffey 82, Fullerton 76--The game was tied at 68 with 5 minutes left, but Chaffey went on a 9-2 run to take control. Chancellor McCobb scored 19 for Chaffey (5-5). Mike Goff scored 21, Daryl Griffin 17 and Geoff Adams 15 for Fullerton (10-2). Chaffey led, 36-21, with 7:55 left in the first half, but Fullerton went on a 17-8 run and trailed, 44-38, at halftime.
In the Cuesta women’s tournament:
Golden West 112, Alan Hancock 66--Donna Gondringer scored 22 and Kim Wilson 20 for Golden West (10-3) in the first round.
