Bonita Vista 51, Coronado 36--Torril Purvis and Colleen Gannon had 20 points apiece to lead host Bonita Vista (15-4, 8-0) past Coronado. Earlier this season, Bonita Vista defeated Coronado by just three.

Mar Vista 44, Sweetwater 40--Nicky Meyer scored a game-high 26 points to lead host Mar Vista (7-9, 4-4). Mimi Jones and Naray Magana had 12 each for Sweetwater. Martha Andrade, a 5-foot 5-inch forward, had a season-high 17 rebounds for Mar Vista, which never trailed.

Hilltop 36, Marian 34--Marian had the ball with 9 seconds left, and Hilltop’s Kelly McAndrew made a steal, dribbled up court and passed to Debbie Carriera, who made a layup at the buzzer. Marian’s Laura Cisneros led all scorers with 21. Sara Floto led host Hilltop (4-11, 2-6) with 13.

Palomar League

Mt. Carmel 51, Vista 43 (2 OT)--Mt. Carmel took advantage of the absence of center Chris Enger, who had the flu, to upset second-ranked Vista. Vicki DeJesus led Mt. Carmel (10-8, 3-2) with 16 points. Dana Christofferson scored 16 for host Vista (15-3, 5-1).

San Dieguito 47, Orange Glen 40--Connie Lucas led host San Dieguito with 13 points, and Mary Silverman added nine. San Dieguito (7-8, 2-3) converted 7 of 8 free throws in the final 32 seconds to preserve the victory. The game was tied, 21-21, at halftime.

Avocado League

San Marcos 56, Oceanside 54 (OT)--Susie O’Brien made four free throws in overtime to hand Oceanside (5-1) its first league loss. The teams were tied, 50-50, at the end of regulation. O’Brien, on her way to scoring 37 points, made eight consecutive free throws in the fourth quarter. She was 17 for 20 from the free-throw line. San Marcos remained undefeated in league (6-0).
