SCC Wins its Opener Against Riverside, 4-2

Southern California College scored 3 runs in the first inning and then held off UC Riverside for a 4-2 victory in the Vanguards’ baseball season opener Wednesday at Riverside.

Robert Mansfield and Phil Bejarano limited Riverside (0-3) to 4 hits. Mansfield went 6 innings, striking out 4, for the victory. Bejarano went the final 3, striking out 3, for the save.

Kevin Kasper had 2 hits, scored a run and drove in a run for the Vanguards.
