Community College Roundup : Kenderena Is Big Hit in 11-0 Cypress Victory

Ken Kenderena had a solo home run, two doubles and four RBIs to lead Cypress College to an 11-0 victory over MiraCosta Tuesday in a nonconference baseball game at Cypress.
Jason Friedman had four hits, including three doubles, and Steve Gill, Paul Bouche and Mike Neal had two hits each for Cypress. Jeff Patterson (3-0) allowed five hits and had seven strikeouts in seven innings for Cypress (6-2).
In other nonconference games:
Palomar 5, Golden West 4--Dave Westman hit a home run and Frank Herman had two doubles for visiting Golden West (4-3).
Mt. San Antonio 21, Saddleback 11--Larry Maddox hit two home runs for host Saddleback (2-1). Justin Pysar had three hits and Jimmy Ramirez and Brett Howard had two each.
In nonconference men’s tennis:
Orange Coast 8, MiraCosta 1--Eric Rebitzer defeated John Hoffpowier at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-1, for visiting OCC in the season opener for both teams.
