Local News in Brief : El Toro : Woman’s Nude Body Is Found Strangled
A 27-year-old Santa Ana woman whose nude body was found over the weekend along Lambert Road near the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station was strangled, authorities said Monday.
The woman was identified Monday as Rene Cathleen Ruiz, 27, of Santa Ana, Sheriff’s Department Lt. Bob Rivas said.
The cause of death was determined in autopsy Monday. Rivas said that no further details about Ruiz’s murder were released, and that the crime remains under investigation.
The body was found by teen-agers about 1:30 a.m. Sunday on Lambert, north of Irvine Boulevard.
The unidentified teen-agers at first thought the body was a discarded store mannequin, but after finding it was human, notified authorities.
