Local News in Brief : Decision Postponed on Civic Auditorium

Share

The Glendale City Council on Tuesday decided to hold off voting on a proposed $9.5-million renovation plan for the city’s civic auditorium, sending it back for a second review by the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission.

The council decided to delay action after learning that the commission had not reviewed the finished version of the proposal, which is slightly different from what the commission had already seen. The commission will consider the final proposal March 8.

All five council members have said they favor the renovation plans, which call for a complete revamping of the auditorium building, addition of three new meeting rooms adjacent to the present structure, construction of a three-story parking structure and improvements in traffic circulation.
