THE PREPS : Southern California Christian Falls in 1-A, 73-68

David Swayne scored 24 points to lead Flintridge Prep High School to a 73-68 overtime victory over Southern California Christian Friday in the semifinals of the Southern Section 1-A boys’ basketball playoffs at St. Francis High School in La Canada.
The Rebels had lost to Southern California Christian, 53-50, in a nonleague game in December. The Flames were the second-seeded team in the 1-A.
Flintridge Prep (15-10) led, 19-10, at the end of the first quarter, but the Flames pulled to within four, 34-30, at halftime. Greg Grossman scored 10 points for the Rebels.
Kenny Cross scored 22 points and Sean Wiltshire added 18 for Southern California Christian, which ends its season 20-6.
