THE PREPS : Foothill Figures to Be Busy in Swim Relays Tonight

Foothill High School qualified teams in every event for the finals of the Southern Section boys’ swim relays, which will be tonight at 7 at Belmont Plaza in Long Beach.
The Knights will have seven teams in the finals. Villa Park and San Marino each qualified six teams.
The seven events in the relays are: 4 x 100-yard individual medley; 6 x 50 freestyle; 4 x 50 breaststroke; 4 x 50 butterfly; 4 x 50 backstroke; 4 x 100 freestyle, and 4 x 50 medley.
“It takes about 15 swimmers to cover all the events,” Foothill Coach Tom DeLong said. “So the teams with the best depth usually do well.”
Mission Viejo won the relays last season, but had to forfeit the title to Corona del Mar because of an ineligible player.
