Area Roundup : Charity Golf Tournament to Be Played April 10

Western Youth Services of Fullerton will hold its annual charity golf tournament to benefit homeless and abused children and their families on April 10 at the Western Hills Golf and Country Club in Chino.
Foursomes will compete in men’s and women’s divisions. There will be contests for the longest drive, closest to the pin and putting.
An $85 entry fee includes cart and green fees, prizes and dinner. Play begins at noon, but registration is 10 a.m. Interested players must sign up as individuals or in a foursome before the April 3 deadline. For more information, call Eldon Baber at 871-5646.
The 5-kilometer Centennial Stride and 12K Pacific Coast runs are scheduled for 8:15 and 8:30 a.m., respectively, April 2 at the Jamboree Center, located at Jamboree Boulevard and Main Street in Irvine.
The 12K will feature winners from 30 states in the culmination of the Zee Challenge Series, a nationwide series of races. It will have both men’s and women’s divisions from 18-and-under to 70-and-over, and a wheelchair division. Late registration is April 1 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Irvine Hilton and Towers, 17900 Jamboree Blvd. in Irvine. For more information, call 661-6062.
Southern California Over-the-Line softball is accepting applications for teams in men’s, women’s and co-ed divisions for spring tournament play. Team entry fee is $33, with each team guaranteed four games in the one-day tournaments. For more information, call (213) 866-8685.
Deadline to sign up for the city of Orange’s three-on-three spring basketball leagues is April 7. There are open, 6-foot-and-under and 6-foot-3-and-under leagues in advanced and lower divisions. There also is an over-30 division. The eight-week, 16-game leagues begin in mid-April. Entry fees are $60 per team. For more information, call Jeff Powell at 998-0189.
