LOCAL : Two Reseda High Students Shot
Two Reseda High School students were wounded in a possibly gang-related shooting this morning while waiting for a school bus at an elementary school near downtown Los Angeles, authorities said.
The victims, 15- and 17-year-old boys whose names were withheld, were in serious but stable condition at County-USC Medical Center.
They were shot about 7 a.m. with a small-caliber handgun after “an altercation” in the 1500 block of 11th Street with two others who fled on foot after the shooting, said Officer Kendall Witt.
Witt said the incident “may be” gang related. The police department’s anti-gang unit is handling the investigation.
A hospital spokesman said the 17-year-old was shot in the back and the 15-year-old in the left side.
