Southern Section Baseball : Simi Valley Clinches Share of Crown, 17-3

Share

Terry Hill had the bat taken from his hands, but Kenny Hood used it to crush a grand slam as Simi Valley High struck for 10 runs in the third inning Friday to smash Channel Islands, 17-3.

The win assured the Pioneers (20-3, 9-2 in league play) of at least a tie for their fourth consecutive Marmonte League title with one game left in the regular season.

Hill, who blasted a two-run home run off starter Angel Aragon in the third, was walked intentionally by reliever Manuel Padilla after the Pioneers batted around in the inning. That loaded the bases for Hood.
