SportScope : AYSO to Register Players on Saturday

The Southern California Natural Body Building Championships are scheduled Saturday at Aviation Auditorium in Redondo Beach. The main event begins at 6 p.m. and tickets are $12. Pre-judge action begins at noon and costs $6. There are seven categories of competition. Former Mr. America, Mr. Universe and Natural Mr. America Dennis Tenerino will join Gayle Olinekova, author of the book “Winning Without Steroids,” as masters of ceremonies. A 5-K/10-K run and 5-K fitness walk to benefit the UCLA Intervention Program for Handicapped Children will be held Sunday on the Bruin campus. Registration starts at 6:30 at Drake Stadium. The cost is $15. A children’s 5-K costs $11. Five-runner corporate teams pay $115. Parking costs $3 at the Sunset and Westwood Boulevard entrance. The goal is to raise $20,000 for the center.
