Agoura Leads Southern Section With 5 Titles

Led by the strength of its girls’ sports program, Agoura High collected a total of five Southern Section divisional team championships in 1988-89, tops among the organization’s 480-school membership.
Representing the Frontier League, Agoura collected championships in girls’ 2-A Division cross-country, girls’ 3-A soccer, girls’ 1-A softball, girls’ 1-A track and boys’ 1-A track.
Ten Southern Section schools were multiple winners. Corona del Mar won four titles and five schools--Capistrano Valley, Mission Prep of San Luis Obispo, San Marino, Trabuco Hills and Irvine Woodbridge--each won three.
Six schools--Harvard, Santa Clara, Arroyo Grande, El Dorado, Palos Verdes and Santa Maria St. Joseph--each won two titles.
